Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry/LC-MS/MS

LC-MS Services:

ECA has two LC-MS/MS instruments that have widened our capability considerably in the last few years. The combination of HPLC and ELSD or PDA with MS-MS is a very useful tool for the characterization of trace amounts of material in complex matrices. The following are the most abundant sample types in our laboratory:

Residual Pesticides: We can quantify in low parts per billion range for most pesticides that are used in agriculture today (including all that have been banned from use)

Unknown Characterization: We use LC-MS/MS in the multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode to characterize unknowns and metabolites. We use LC-MS/MS for the identification and quantification of known and unknown ingredients in consumer products.

The LC-MS/MS is especially suited for consumer product deformulation as it can provide invaluable data regarding the primary and secondary ingredients in consumer products.
